NEW VIDEO! Soft Neutral Smokey Eye and Nude Lip Combo

Hi lovers!
Today I filmed a new look for you all with help from the Australis Intensifeye (clever) Wet/Dry Eyeshadow in Choc-A-Block. I featured this product on my last video (drugstore favourites) and decided that I should probably create a look with the eyeshadow quad, so here it is! I decided to create a soft smokey eye and a nude lip. Super simple and easy to do.

Here are the list of products that I used:

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
L'Oreal True Match in N2 Vanilla
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer
Australis Quad in Choc-A-Bloc
Blank Canvas Cosmetics Neutral Palette
Flamar Black Eyeliner Pen
Australis Mega Lash in Black
Ardell Demi Whispies (False Eyelashes)
Maybelline Lip Liner in 02 Nude
Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Soft Nude
Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Pink Truffle

I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think below in the comments :)

My current holy grail drugstore makeup products!

Hey everyone! (Or the two people who may actually read this blog)

I've had about 100 technical difficulties in the past 2 weeks and it's been a nightmare trying to record videos. If I've learnt one thing in recent times it is that I am extremely technologically challenged. Another thing I have learnt is that when technology refuses to work the way I want it to, I have a tendency to turn into the almighty Hulk.

Anyway! Things are working smoothly now and I filmed a short and sweet video about my current holy grail drugstore makeup products. I'll leave the video below for you to check it out.

I hope you enjoyed it!

P.S How's that embarrassing pouty face? It's hard to pose with cosmetics.

Confessions of a bad gift giver...

So about a week ago my boyfriend, Matt, had his birthday. Now I don't know about you, but I personally dread gift-giving. I am notorious for leaving everything to the last minute and feel completely uninspired when it comes to thinking of thoughtful presents. My thought process goes a little something like this:

- (Two months away from said birthday) "I have plenty of time! No need to worry about it now."
- (One month away away from said birthday) "I have plenty of time! No need to worry about it now."
- (One week away from said birthday, I am definitely in denial by this point) "I have some time! No need to worry... right?"
- (Day before said birthday) "Oh crap".

You'd think after years and years of leaving everyones presents to the last minute I would have learnt by now. Perhaps I would even see something that someone would like (when it was no where near their birthday) and buy it, just so that I would definitely have something thoughtful for them by the time their birthday finally rolls around. Nope, not me.

Anyway, this year Matt ended up getting two lamps. Yep, you heard me, two lamps. In my defence they were given to him upon his request as he is in the process of building a house. But basically it may be the most lame, thoughtless gift I could have given him, just behind a gift card. I decided that I needed more of a personal touch and began my quest online (of course). It wasn't long before I stumbled upon a cute website that sold mini projectors that could project images chosen by you. It was very affordable and I thought would be the perfect thing to add that personal touch to my seemingly impersonal lamps. It also had the perfect amount of corniness (is that a word?) but wasn't too over the top.

The projector in action! (This image is of the flowers Matt bought me on Valentines Day)

The wheel that you personalise. Choose images from your instagram and hey presto!

So there you have it, a simple yet sweet present idea for your boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, or anyone really! The projectors are available from https://www.getprojecteo.com

Hope this post helped any fellow clueless gift givers and to the rest of you, see you next time!

Popping my blogging cherry!

Wow so where to begin? Perhaps introducing myself would be a good start!

Hi there! My name is Katie, I am 22 years old and live in Perth, Western Australia. I suppose I should also say why I've decided to write a blog too?  I very only recently discovered a huge interest of mine- YouTube! I know, I know, I'm extremely late to be jumping on the bandwagon but hey, better late than never right?! As I have always had an interest in fashion and beauty it wasn't long until I found some Australian-based beauty YouTube gurus such as Chloe Morello, Lauren Curtis and Sharon Farrel. I immediately fell in love! I knew that this was something I could see myself doing and I wanted to be apart of it straight away. I began my channel soon after watching hundreds of videos, and gaining some knowledge and much needed insight into the YouTube world. After uploading a few ho-hum videos that weren't of the highest quality, I decided to stop for a while and save some money for some professional equipment (and by professional I mean a camera that wasn't sprouting from a laptop). I'm pleased to say that I am now a proud owner of decent lighting and a REAL camera and I began filming again this week. Now I should probably answer my original question about why I started a blog shouldn't I? Well in my opinion, blogging and vlogging go hand-in-hand, especially when it comes to beauty, fashion and lifestyle. I also love writing and thought it would be the perfect thing to quench my writing desires!

I've linked my makeup tutorial below, I hope you enjoy it!

It must be noted that although I have a love for everything beauty related, I am not a professional (but I have enrolled myself in a makeup course for the end of the year)! Anyway, basically what I'm trying to get at (very inadvertently) is that I am no expert, so everything that I have shown you is self-taught and won't be perfect, but hey, who/what is?!
